How to Create Exams in Courses

Hello! How are you?

In this article, we will show you how to create a new exam on the platform.

❗ Attention!

To create an exam, you must first register the course, modules, and lessons.

⚠️ Advanced Permissions in Trainings

Important!

The network can configure Head Office users' permissions to prevent them from managing training courses.

This means that these users may not be able to publish new courses, edit courses, lessons, and perform other management actions.

Therefore, if you cannot see any of the actions mentioned in this article, check your user permissions.

To edit permissions, access:

Settings >> Permissions

Then, in the Head Office role you want to edit, locate the Education module.

📣 Accessing Exams

To access the module, expand the Trainings menu in the sidebar and click Manage Courses.

The module name may vary depending on the network.

The naming is defined by the Head Office.

If you would like to change the module name, contact our Support team.

When selecting a course, the editor will have access to the available editing options shown below.

🧾 Creating an Exam

When accessing the Exam menu, you can create a new exam by clicking Create Exam.

The exam creation form will then open.

In this form, you will find fields for the exam name and description.

You can also configure:

  • Exam retakes: the number of times the exam can be attempted.

  • Minimum passing score: the minimum score required to pass the exam.

  • Answer key display: whether the answer key should be shown after the user passes the exam.

  • Exam type: final exam or module exam.

Module Exam

A module exam can be created for each module, allowing more than one exam to be added.

Final Exam

When choosing the Final Exam option, only one final exam can be created per course.

Below are two examples of exam configurations.

After clicking Save, the editor will have the option to add questions to the exam.

📝 Adding Questions to the Exam

When creating a question, you can format the text, add hyperlinks, and include image links.

The Weight field determines how much the question contributes to the exam score.

In the Alternatives tab, click Create Alternative to add an answer option.

Each alternative can be marked as:

  • Correct

  • Incorrect

You can also delete an alternative using the trash icon.

It is possible to create more than one correct alternative, as shown in the example below.

⚠️ Attention!

You cannot complete the exam setup unless at least one alternative is marked as correct.

After clicking Save, the editor will return to the Edit Exam screen.

You can also edit or delete a question.

In the lower-right corner, an icon will indicate the question's weight.

In the example shown, the question has Weight 1.

🔄 Allowing a New Exam Attempt

Has an employee used all the configured exam attempts without reaching the minimum passing score?

In this article, we explain how to allow the user to take the exam again!
