How to Create Modules and Lessons

Hello! How are you?

In this article, we will show you how to create modules and lessons on the platform.

🔍 What Are Modules Used for in Courses?

Modules help organize and differentiate course content.

⚠️ Advanced Permissions in Training

Important!

The network can configure Head Office users' permissions to prevent them from managing training courses.

This means they may not be able to publish new courses, edit courses, view statistics, and perform other management actions.

Therefore, if you cannot see any of the actions mentioned in this article, check your user permissions.

To edit permissions, go to:

Settings >> Permissions

Then, in the Head Office role you want to edit, locate the Education module.

🎓 Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Modules

🔸 Step 1

To create a module, go to:

Trainings >> Manage Courses

Open the course you want to edit, if it is not already open in draft mode, and select the Modules tab.

Click the button shown in the image below.

🔸 Step 2

Add a title and a description, then click Save in the lower-right corner.

After creating the first module, you can add more modules if needed by clicking New Module.

Overview:

After registering the modules, if you want to change their order, simply click the drag icon next to the module number and drag it to the desired position.

By clicking the three-dot icon at the end of each module row, you can edit the title and description or delete the module.

Free Navigation Between Modules

When this option is enabled, users do not need to finish one module before accessing another.

In other words, if this option is disabled, users will only be able to access Module 2 after completing Module 1.

📽️ Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Lessons

The Lessons tab is where the course content is located.

To create a lesson, the modules must already have been created.

🔹 Step 1

In the search field, select the module to which you want to add the lesson.

🔹 Step 2

Next, click the button at the bottom of the page or the corresponding button on the right side of the screen.

🔹 Step 3

After clicking the button, add:

🟡 Lesson title

🟡 Video or PDF content

There are three options available:

  • Insert a video or PDF link

  • Upload a video or PDF

  • HTML link (SCORM format)

🔴 Option 1 — Video or PDF Link

When selecting Video or PDF Link, enter the link.

For videos, you can include links from YouTube or Vimeo.

⚠️ Important!

You can embed a live-streaming link in a module as a lesson.

This can be done using links from platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo, where you can create a live stream and share the link with training participants.

In addition, you can track student engagement directly through the course statistics.

🔴 Option 2 — Upload a Video or PDF

When selecting Upload Video or PDF, click Attach File to select the file you want to add to the lesson.

After selecting the file, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save to start the upload.

If you need to remove the file, click Remove.

⚠️ Important!

In the Trainings module, you can upload files up to 1 GB in size.

Alternatives If Your File Exceeds the Maximum Upload Size

Videos that exceed this limit can be hosted on external platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive.

If you choose this option, you can add the video to the lesson using Video or PDF Link, as shown in the image below.

Suggestion: When using an external platform, upload your videos and proprietary knowledge to unlisted playlists to help keep your files private.

🟡 Content Editing — Text Box

This space is intended for content descriptions and additional information.

It includes options for formatting text and inserting links and images.

🟡 Supporting Materials

This section allows you to add supporting materials in PDF, DOC, or video format.

🔹 Step 4

After adding your lesson content, click the button in the lower-right corner.

🟡 Each lesson has a shareable link, allowing students, managers, franchisees, and franchisors to reference a specific lesson directly.

Done!

Modules and lessons successfully created!
