About course statuses
Courses can have different statuses depending on their current stage.
Draft
When a new course is created, it automatically receives the Draft status.
This status means that the course is still being built and is not available to users yet.
While the course is in draft, you can edit information, add modules, lessons, tests, and other content before publishing it.
Published
When the course is published, the status changes to Published.
This status means that the course is available to users according to the audience, permissions, and availability period configured in the course setup.
Expired
The course changes to Expired when the date entered in the Available until field is reached.
In other words, when the availability period ends, the course is no longer available to users and the status automatically changes to Expired.
Which actions change the course status?
From draft to published
To change a course from Draft to Published, you need to publish the course after completing the setup and reviewing the information.
Before publishing, make sure that modules, lessons, tests, description, cover image, and availability settings are correct.
From published to expired
A published course changes to Expired automatically when it reaches the date configured in the Available until field.
This date can also be adjusted manually in the course setup, according to the network’s needs.
How to publish an expired course again
To reactivate a course with the Expired status, change the date in the Available until field to a future date and click Save.
After the change, the course will become available again according to the configuration made.
⚠️ Important!
Always review the course settings before publishing it again, especially:
available audience;
availability date;
modules and lessons;
tests;
access permissions
